Cosa fare

1. 1Caller posing as Medicare or insurer says a 'new Medicare card with chip / DNA testing kit / back brace' is being issued and asks for the Medicare Beneficiary ID (MBI) plus SSN to 'verify'.
2. 2Medicare never calls to issue new cards or request the MBI.
3. 3IF VICTIM: report to SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) 1 877 808 2468 + oig.hhs.gov, request new MBI from Medicare, monitor Medicare summary notices for fraudulent claims for 24 months.
